Leslie Tamble is drawn to encaustic mixed media because it offers an unique art form to explore movement and organic shapes.

She often incorporates found objects, glass, and sewn canvas into wax-based encaustic paintings. Leslie is inspired by her travels and the natural world while bringing a subtle socio-political context to much of her work. Frequent moves from Alabama to California - and several states in between - also add texture and perspective to her art.

After a career in social work, Leslie never lost her passion for creation. Over the years she has experimented with a variety of mediums and artistic pursuits ranging from oil painting, art dolls, and altered books to costume and graphic design. Leslie was inspired to continue developing her work as an encaustic artist after attending encaustic workshops and receiving an award at the Minnesota State Fair for an encaustic painting.

Leslie's work is available for viewing and purchase at the Northrup King Building (studio 184) in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
